The Other German Car

Before

This project car is a 1984 BMW 318i used for miscellaneous errands such as going to Home Depot, or grocery shopping. When I first acquired the car, It had damage to the front hood and grill, The front 15 inch rims were bent terribly which caused the car to vibrate violently when speeds reached 50+ MPH, and the car leaked various fluids such as oil and power steering fluid as well. Missing from the car was a radio and rear antenna, which broke off. Front and rear brakes were also needed all around as well as a master cylinder.

The previous owner had the car fitted with an aftermarket cone filter air intake system with aftermarket exhaust headers coupled to an ANSA exhaust tip. This setup increased horsepower to about 15-20 HP. I discovered that the suspension was also lowered to improve handling.

After

As you can see, the rear tinted glass was removed and stock 14 inch rims along with new tires were fitted to ensure a satisfactory ride. The next step I did was to replace the spark plugs with new Bosche Platinum plugs and change the oil, (which was black by the way) . I replaced the aftermarket cone filter air intake with the original stock closed style box air intake I obtained from a salvage yard, and replaced front rotors and brake pads I got for a song on EBAY. Lastly, a clean ride needs a clean sound system, so in went a high powered JVC detachable face cassette deck and a new antenna.
