1978 Mercedes 450 SLC

Yes. This car will need work. It has been sitting outdoors for 5 years, and as you know gasoline turns into shellac or varnish when sitting for so long. Obviously the car didn't start even with a new battery.Work done so far: Gasoline drained and replenished with high test gas, Spark plugs changed with Bosche Platimun plugs, oil changed, fuel filter and fuel pump replaced, Automatic Climate control servo replaced...(The car was missing one in the first place). The car didn't idle properly when cold, so a cold start valve and warm up regulator sensor was changed, which solved the problem. These wonderful parts were bought at an extreme discount courtesy of East Brunswick Foreign Car . Thanks Attilla! The car runs well now. The 4.5 Liter V8 loves to guzzle gasoline at 70 MPH.

Cosmetics will be on the to do list over the summer.

Interior

Five years of continuous UV rays will do this to leather. I am still searching for a salvage yard that will carry the replacements.

In spite of the interior condition, the car rides well and is quite comfortable by any standards.
